Your listening. Your information.

This policy covers the HearLift app and the hearlift.app website. HearLift is independently developed. For privacy questions or requests, contact the developer at hearlift@gmail.com.
What stays on your device
Your library, reading position, calibration, listening settings, and listening activity are stored locally. The app does not send your calibration or listening-activity history to the developer, and it does not require a HearLift account. Files you import are processed for your local library; importing a file does not itself upload it to the developer.
Built-in Apple narration uses the voices installed on your iPhone or iPad. Playing an already-downloaded pre-recorded book does not send its passages to a speech-generation service.
Book browsing and downloads
Online searches, catalog requests, and downloads connect to the selected book provider or hosting service. These services receive the requested search terms or resources and normal connection information, such as your IP address. Pre-recorded books are hosted through Cloudflare. Project Gutenberg and Wikisource provide their own book services; links to other book sites open those sites under their own privacy policies. The web app may route book requests through its server.
Optional Microsoft voices
When you enable Premium voices, text needed for narration is sent to Microsoft Azure Speech, along with voice and language settings, so it can return audio. This can include imported text and a passage prepared ahead of playback. On native iOS, requests go to Microsoft; the web app uses its configured server as an intermediary. Do not use online narration for text you do not want processed by that service.
Saved Azure credentials on iPhone and iPad use the system Keychain. Web service credentials are managed by the configured server, not exposed in the page. Turning Premium voices off stops their use but does not automatically remove saved credentials. You can remove a saved connection in the app; server credentials must be removed by the server’s operator.
This website
Cloudflare hosts this informational website and processes connection information to deliver and protect it, including IP addresses and requested URLs. We do not add advertising trackers, analytics scripts, account logins, contact forms, or cookies to these pages. Hosting providers may process security and operational logs under their own policies.
If you contact support
Emailing support shares your email address and anything you choose to include with the developer and the email service. We use that information to answer you and investigate the issue. Keep attachments limited to what is needed. Correspondence is retained as needed to handle your request and follow-up; you can email to request deletion, subject to any necessary legal retention.
Your choices and data removal
You can remove books from My library, disable optional online voices, and remove saved speech-service connections in the app. Device or browser controls manage local app data and backups; operating-system backups may contain app data according to your settings. Removing a managed book does not delete your original imported file or a provider’s copy. Because listening records stay on your device, the developer cannot retrieve or delete those local records for you.
Platform services and diagnostics
Apple manages App Store and TestFlight distribution and any diagnostic or beta feedback you choose to share through its services. These are separate from the app’s local listening history. Your device, browser, email service, and external book or speech providers operate under their own privacy policies. We do not sell personal information or use your listening records for advertising.
Children and privacy
HearLift is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has sent personal information to support, contact us so we can address it.
Policy updates
We will update this page and its effective date if the app’s data handling changes. Please review it when deciding whether to use a new online feature.
